Program Description
Recorded: October 12, 2023 – Managing medications can be hard. Many adults take five or more medications for different reasons. This presentation will look at ways to make managing medications easier and safer. This will also include options for ways to organize medications. We will look at how to safely store medications. We will also look at medication refill options and how to safely throw away medication. Participants will gain a better understanding of the ins and outs of safe and simple medication management.

Presenters
Alyssa MacDonald, MOT, OTR/L – Alyssa is an occupational therapist and the adult occupational therapy services team leader at Gallant Therapy Services. Alyssa also is the Program Administrator for the AT 4 Maine Demonstration and Loan Program at Gallant Therapy Services. She has worked as an occupational therapist in pediatrics in an outpatient clinic setting as well as providing adult occupational therapy services throughout the State of Maine. Alyssa has years of experience conducting assistive technology assessments and comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations – which both often address medication management needs and considerations. Alyssa is passionate about helping those in our community to live life to the fullest in whatever way that means for the individual!
Ashlynne Everett, MOT, OTR/L – Ashlynne is an occupational therapist at Gallant Therapy Services. She works with pediatric clients in an outpatient clinic setting and provides adult occupational therapy services throughout the State of Maine. Ashlynne has experience conducting assistive technology assessments and comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, where she has experience recommending various medication management strategies, techniques and tools to clients and their teams. Ashlynne assists with demonstrations and loan processes for the AT 4 Maine Program. Ashlynne is passionate about educating our community members on available tools and resources to increase their independence and assist with participation in preferred occupations!
