Designing Comfort: How Assistive Technology Can Relieve Joint Pain – June 29, 2026

Program Description

Persons hand showing redness on joints of fingers

Recorded: June 29, 2026 – Chances are, you or someone you know has joint pain. Whether it is caused by arthritis, injury or everyday wear-and-tear, pain can limit function and take the fun out of everyday activities. Fortunately, there are many assistive technology (AT) devices that help us get through the tasks that bother our joints.

Join us for a practical session in which we explore a wide range of AT devices that can make personal care, housekeeping, yardwork, work and play a little less painful. Many items are available to borrow for trial from our AT lending library. We will highlight these, explain how to borrow them, and look at some other low tech and high tech device options that may be readily available elsewhere..

We want to hear from you, too! Ask questions, and share the tips and tricks you use to manage joint pain for a more comfortable life.
